TRIM3 Eligibility and Participation Rate Estimates
The TRIM3 model simulates the number of units (typically, individuals or families) eligible for assistance under various means-tested transfer programs, using the data available on the March Current Population Survey (CPS).
The estimated participation rate is calculated by dividing the number of units actually "participating" or "enrolled" in a program, according to administrative data, by the TRIM3 eligibility estimate. Because most administrative data sources provide monthly information on program participation, TRIM3 eligibility and participation rate estimates are typically presented as average monthly estimates.
Recent TRIM3 eligibility and participation rate estimates for selected programs are presented below. For further information about TRIM3 eligibility and participation rate estimates, please contact the TRIM3 staff at T3Issues@ui.urban.org.
